AI Limit Bar — Privacy Policy

AI Limit Bar is developed by Dolganov Studio. This policy explains how information is handled by the Codex-only macOS application. It does not describe LinkDoctor, Safari extensions, or earlier development versions of AI Limit Bar.

AI Limit Bar processes quota information locally on your Mac. This release does not use a developer-operated backend, analytics, advertising, or account login. It makes no provider API requests. Dolganov Studio does not receive your quota history or conversation content through the application.

Files and permissions

You choose the Codex data folder using the macOS folder picker. The app stores a security-scoped bookmark to retain read access. It reads bounded portions of JSONL files in the sessions directory to find quota events. Those files may also contain conversation content; the app does not display or store conversation content in its usage history. It does not read authentication files.

Local storage

The app stores quota snapshots, source timestamps, reset times and errors in JSON history files in its Application Support directory. Settings, folder bookmarks and notification delivery identifiers are stored in local preferences. Quota history is capped at 8,000 snapshots per service. Data is not uploaded to the developer or sold or shared for advertising.

Notifications

With your permission, quota alerts are submitted to the macOS notification system. Their contents may be visible on screen according to your system settings. You can disable notifications in macOS Settings.

Retention and removal

Disabling the source stops quota monitoring; it does not delete stored history or preferences. Removing the app does not guarantee removal of its data or of credentials saved by earlier development builds. Earlier builds' saved API keys are not used by this release.

Independent utility

AI Limit Bar is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI. Codex is a third-party product. Local file formats may change.

Children's privacy

The application does not knowingly collect personal information from children or transmit local usage information to Dolganov Studio.

Security

The application uses macOS sandbox permissions and processes quota data locally. No method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the application changes. The revision date is shown above.
